Jessica W. Chen

New York City writer and actress

About

A woman with dark, wavy hair wearing a black cap and a brown zip-up sweater, sitting inside a vehicle, smiling at the camera, with a gold necklace and earrings.

I am a writer and actress.

A Maryland girl through and through, I moved to Taipei after graduating college. While there, I reconnected with my roots and embarked on my entertainment career.

I’ve been writing about expats, love (won and lost), and Asian pop culture ever since.

When I’m not chasing my dream, you can find me at home in New York City, snuggling my dog son while watching the latest true crime doc or Japanese drama.

My dream is to write TV and movies.

Fun fact: The first work I ever wrote was an inclusive fantasy novel based heavily on The Lord of the Rings. I still have the file somewhere.
